Sad Day
Isn't it sad what has happenend in America? Since when did race hustlers start determining who can own an NFL team? Wow...i have to say i'm shocked at this. You might not agree with Rush Limbaugh, i happened to think he's funny 90% of the time but for pete's sake, it's his bloody money. Why in the hell is that anybody else's business. Whatever happened to post-racial America? I guess it was all a dream...just like Hope N Change. I have to say this is really really a sad day in America.

Olympics
So yes, I'm happy Rio got the Olympic gig. Chicago is already a city with high taxes, great corruption and home of an egoistic president. It did not need more of it. I actually really love the city of chicago, i honestly wouldn't mind moving there. But honestly, Obama really thought he cold swoon his way to the olympics. talking about his personal story, how america has looked wack over the last several years but now that he's in office, it's all hope and change. what a lameO. I hate to say it but this was pretty sweet. His ego really tanked! Do i really think it will change how he sees things? NOPE. the guy is in so in to himself, he's oblivious to reality. Oh well. he basically said hey dudes pick Chicago because of ME. He's so lame. Maybe this is the beginning of the end of these kids running the country. Put some adults in charge please. Anyway, Happy Friday! And happy Birthday to my boy Jarrett. Many more dude!

Public Enemies
Hmm. Just saw this movie for the second time. I really don't know what to think about it. I thought the picture was great, acting was decent but it wasn't all that. I remember being in Chicago while they were filming this last year. (Why did it take so long by the way?) Anyway, what i didn't like about the movie was the excessive shooting. I love guns, don't get me wrong but there was so much shooting for no reason. No aim, nothing just criminals shooting automatics with no aim in sight. It became kind of bizzare, like why are you wasting all that ammo fool? The other quib i had with the movie was the silly accents especially of Christian Bale's character. It was really silly. I dunno who he was trying to sound like but he didn't sound like anything but a idiot. it was like a wannabe new york/boston accent. I didn't know Chicagoans speak like that, maybe during the depression but not now they don't. Those were my two main problems with the movie. Other than that, I thought it was OK. I still haven't seen Transformers 2, maybe this weekend.

Sanford Saga
Since pictures are starting to surface on Mark Sanford's girlfriend, from what I've seen, she's ok looking. But I do think I've figured him out: he just wanted 'a wise Latina'. It's all part of the GOP's Big Tent outreach and his foreign policy bonafides.
We'll see if that really is her.

Shaq
I'm beginning to draw the conclusion that Shaquill O'Neal sucks. He seems to be trying to live off of other people's success and talent. His stint with the Lakers, I don't begrudge him for they were a nice duo and from my recollection (not that great), they got there about the same time. Then he goes to Miami...where Dwayne Wade just so happens to be the hottest thing around (no homo) on the court. And shaazam, it's all about Flash N Shaq Daddy. And then he goes to Phoenix where uh oh, Steve Nash just happens to be the best point guard playing basketball in the last few years, but since he's fat and slow, therefore doesn't mix well with Suns style of playing, it's an epic failure. But somewhere on the east coast some guy by the name of King James just happens to be "the next Michael Jordan" (which I don't believe), is "looking" for new talent and O'Neal just happens to be the match made in Heaven. Can somebody please tell me how this isn't absurd?
Not only is Shaq a carpet bagger but the Cavs are stupid. 1) why on earth would you waste your money on a guy who is waay past his prime? 2) why on earth would you acquire somebody that will alter the way you play your game?
I'm all for improving your team but Shaq? Really? You couldn't do any better? Why don't you get a younger guy who can develop and help your team become a power house with the already developed and stellar Lebron James? Why not draft somebody or get Emeka Okafor or trade your whole team for Andrew Bynum? Or good lord, anybody but Shaq.
In less than a decade, Shaq would have played with three of the best all-stars in the last 20 years. We call that mooching.

Geaux Tigers!
How about those Tigers?? Funny yesterday at lunch, my boss was hounding me about the game 2 loss and that she'll be thinking of me when LSU loses again last night. I told her it wasn't going to happen. And whaam! We lay a nice derriere whooping on the Longhorns. Hah! Don't mess with the Tigers! Another day, another championship. And yes, I wore a purple and gold polo to work today.
Geaux Tigers!

O-bummer
I'm getting close to declaring that the United States Supreme Leader is a one-term president. Not yet ready to say it but I'm getting close. I think this emperor is definitely getting undressed...no homo.

Contracts
Apparently, people are taking note at how the administration is shredding the rule of law. They screwed the Chrysler and GM secured bondholders and now Miss USA has followed on. At least they got what they wanted...Carrie Prejean to lose the crown because she thinks traditional marriage is cool and should be left that way. They claim she "breached" her contract. Yeah, just like those "speculators" breached their contract. At least we know they're paying attention to their thug-in-chief.

Newfound Respect
Two big ones. Numero Uno: Ruth Bader Ginsburg-conservative and libertarian hero?? I'm not sure yet if the Supreme Court will uphold or smack down the administrations militant bankruptcy or not but at least for her to delay the decision, she deserves big praise. Will she turn out to be the unlikely savior of the constitution and of free people? That's yet to be determined, until then, she will be held high from my end. I think she can vote all the crazy left-wing ways til she dies and I'll have no problem with her.
NUmero dEUx: Stephen Colbert. Haven't really watched him on a consistent basis but what he did for the troops is to be applauded. I don't really care about his politics or honestly anything he does for the rest of the time he's on tv, he has my respect. For him to go all the way to Iraq and do this and call attention to the war that is still going on is a million times greater than what you would expect from anybody in the media today. They're too busy bashing Bush and any conservative in sight and screaming for Cindy Sheehan. This man has got some guts and it's refreshing to see someone in his kind of crowd doing such a great thing for the military.
Kudos to these two!

24 season finale recap
Last night's show was pretty awesome, I think. Some parts I kind of figured would happen, e.g. Kim Bauer, saving her father (if not, the shows over). The part of her stabbing the woman and then running after the dude was spectacular. What's her real name? She reminds me of a much better looking meghan mccain. I found the politically correct muslim cleric visiting him very interesting...no big deal, just pretty random. Word on the street is Garafolo isn't going to be back next season...I won't lose any sleep over her. Tony Almaeda was a big star. I figured he was doing it for some bigger reason but I couldn't figure it out. I thought maybe someone had blackmailed him. Anyway, great show great season...look forward to next season.

Friday!
Happy Friday but before I cut loose for the day I have to say:
it's been fun watching San Fran Nan---Nancy Pelosi just fall apart as she lies her way around washington. The exact reason politicians need term limits...power and corruption. But I digress, I have my popcorn. Do you?

Brett Favre
I used to be a huge Brett Favre fan. I mean he was my favorite football players for years. Since he started playing this retirement game, he's just pissed me off. The last two years of this dude has made me peeved. He played that game with Green Bay then NY Jets played along and now Minnesota wants to dance. How about Brett Favre go sit at home and stop being so selfish. It's time to move on old man or you'll just tarnish whatever legacy you had.

Rockets!
Wow. Check out the Rockets v Lakers game last night? Wow, what a shocker! I thought we would have a pretty good chance to put up a fight but I think the Rockets left the Lakers kind of clueless last night. Maybe we might be able to pull this off. Big ups to Yao for fighting through the pain, he's making himself to be a serious star now.
By the way, I have always thought the Rockets were better off without T-mac. He's more of a burden than an asset.

AAR
Got a chance to check out All American Rejects last night downtown. Very good concert. They gave a pretty good show except for one thing: it just ended. Like one second everybody's going crazy to "Give you Hell" and then the band is off stage. No thank you Houston, thanks for having us. Nothing. They just cleared the stage. Very interesting. I guess when you make it that big you just don't give a rat but I think I would love to keep my fans and would love for them to come back next time I come to town.

'24'... Again
I'm still stunned from the episode last night. Tony frigging Almeada! That's all I have to say. The dude is a beast! You know a show or a movie is really good when you're tempted to side with the bad guys. I really haven't seen a better show than '24'. I do think I'm starting to have a little crush on the red-hair, "Renee"; when I think about it, I have a little history of red hair crushes (think Lindsay Lohan). It's a shame this season is almost over but it's funny because nobody knows how its going to end. Loving it!

24-tonight
I await yet another thriller. I swear this show should be on 24/7/365. Seriously.
Update: Yes, it was a thriller. Two words, Tony Almaeda! I was a little ticked off about the silly global warming commercial 'Cloe' did after the show. Really? I guess '24's trying to blunt the suggestions that it's a rightwing show. Nonsense. Embrace your rightwingness '24'. Nobody needs to do anything to save the planet. If the planet needs to be saved, it'll save itself.

I really wish...
24 was a movie or a three hour show. One hour is just not enough. I hope this is not the last season becuase i got a feeling Jack might die. He's been exposed to radioactive materials. We'll see. This season has definitely gotten better. Save Tony!

The kids
I volunteer at church teaching 5th grade kids on wednesdays. I found this past wednesday pretty darn hilarious. In a way i was encouraged and in a way i was a little distubed. lol. These dudes are pretty informed on the president. I tried to shut 'em up but they weren't having it. "Isn't it weird that his middle name is Hussein and his last name is Osama"... "He's going to tax people based on how many miles they drive and charge for using carbon"..."He's a muslim"..."Why do people worship him, he hasn't even done anything yet". These are just some of the comments they had. The muslim one i had to clear up pretty quickly but other than that, i really didn't have much defense for our genius president. I was a little happy that at least the kids having been indoctrinated...yet. Well they all live in surburbia Houston, so that's not saying too much, maybe.

History Channel
Lately, i've gotten kind of hooked on History. For part of my senior year in college (last year) i kept on wishing i took a minor in History...too late. But I've been reading on some history, Great Depression, Calvin Coolidge, Hoover, FDR, and American History in general. I've also been doing some readings on some other history including Nigeria but a lot of Hitler, Lenin and Stalin. Some pretty interesting stuff in this area. I was flipping through the channels last night and I ran into a documentary on Hilter and Stalin, i forgot the title but it was really good. And then after they went through a little history on the actual Valkyrie and then went into the setting of the movie with Tom Cruise. Anyhow, i feel that i'm about to get hooked to the History Channel. We'll see how it goes!
