Sarah Palin
I like Sarah Palin, as a matter in fact, I like sarah palin a lot. Her move today does leave me scraching my head, scraching really hard. Mostly because it's so puzzling and so different that you really don't know what to make of it. Some are writing her political obituary, some are saying she's starting to run for president. Who knows? Maybe she's just fed up with all the nonsense that has been following her around since she became national figure. She's been beat up horribly by the left and the right, so heck why not throw in the towel and say screw this, I have a family (young family by the way) and i honestly don't need this. To hell with politics. As much as i think that is possible, i kind of doubt it b/c she just doesn't seem like one to throw in the towel, maybe i'm wrong but i'll hold my judgment. Maybe she does want to run for higher office, who knows. One thing we can say is she dances to her own drumbeat and that i can respect. I may not agree with you but if you feel you know what you're doing, more power to ya. I do wish her all the best though, it seems she thought and talked about it with her family pretty well, so that works for me. If she and her family are happy then honestly, who cares. I've seen some of the same people (especially on the right) that always had something negative to say about her saying oh no, she's ruined her career, well you fools...you didn't want her to have one anyway. This wouldn't be my strategy but i'm not her. I think she's got a pretty bright future regardless of what she does or doesn't do. Godspeed, Ms. Wasilla, godspeed.

More from The WSJ
Yes, my favorite newspaper is Wall Street Journal because of the financial analysis on there as well as the excellent editorial. It's a fine Newspaper. Anyhow, yesterday, Shelby Steele , one of my favorites, wrote a magnificent article about the so called post racial president. Very excellent piece.
But of course "post-racialism" is not a real idea. It is an impression, a chimera that grows out of a very specific racial manipulation that I have called "bargaining." Here the minority makes a bargain with white society: I will not "guilt" you with America's centuries of racism if you will not hold my minority status against me. Whites love this bargain because it allows them to feel above America's racist past and, therefore, immune to charges of racism. By embracing the bargainer they embrace the impression of a world beyond racial division, a world in which whites are innocent and minorities carry no anger. This is the impression that animates bargainers like Mr. Obama or Oprah Winfrey with an irresistible charisma. Even if post-racialism is an obvious illusion -- a bargainer's trick as it were -- whites are flattered by believing in it.
More "Create or Save"
Today and last couple of days, I've seen a pickup in sensible people calling out how stupid this 'create or save' nonsense is. Bill McGurn from WSJ had a great article about it today, smacking the media for playing along with this phony math. Obama's lapdogs will do whatever their master pleases. Rush also wacked the administration for this so called "saved" jobs number. I've said it before, anybody can make up a number of 'saved' statistics. For example, Katie Couric (who by the way sucks as an anchor and pretty much at life) has the worst rating since they've been rating, lol. She's lost over 2million viewers but in essence she has saved 5million more. Ahh, I love this math. I wish I could use it at the job: Boss, we lost five clients last week but I really saved nine (out of 20) clients. Nonsense.
From McGurn:
From McGurn:
"You can measure how many jobs are created between two points in time. But
there is no way to measure how many jobs are saved. Even if things get much,
much worse, the President can say that there would have been 4 million fewer
jobs without the stimulus."
Rush was pretty funny talking about this, going as far as saying that this math is so impossible "maybe even God" wouldn't be able to figure this math out. Heh. Actually He can.

Turbo Timmy
I can't get passed the story about Timothy Geithner getting laughed at by Chinese students when he said he guarantees them that their American held assets are safe. LOL Who's the idiot here? Him or his boss? I'll go with option C, both of them. Funny enough, one of the chinese economists said well Timmy, can you like show us the math of this? Like how the heck are you going to pay off a 12 trillion dollars you've racked up in about a year trying to "save" the american economy? Or how speniding trillions of dollars on government healthcare is going to "save" and "reduce" costs. What kind of Orwellian nonsense is this? I have to say, I love the Chinese right now. I don't care what people say, these people are not stupid or close to stupid. If anybody is behaving dumb right now, look at the White House, Treasury, Fed and Congress. But I have to give props to the students at the university laughing at Timmy. I know they're thinking this "genius" cannot even figure out his own taxes on freaking Turbo Tax and he tells us that our T-bills are safe. I think they called bull on that one, anyone with half-a-brain could figure that out. I love it.
On a related note, I love how Ben Benarke wants to tell us that America will have to reduce deficits. Sooooo now you tell us. Ridiculous. NO DUH. After he has printed billions even trillions of dollars, he wants to talk about cutting back. Why the heck didn't you cut back on your printing machine Benny? I do honestly believe that they've figured out America can't pay the debt between what it is now and the coming second round of binge fiscal drinking of the Administration, so they are just going to have to raise taxes BIG TIME. And/or purposely devalue the dollar and screw China and the Sultans. We'll see how that works out, I don't think China will stand for that. Either way, it ain't gonna be pretty.

Supreme Court
Why is everyone up in arms about Obama's Supreme Court nominee? Obama nominated someone just like him...a racist, marxist and a "great story". This should have been expected. Seriously.
On a related note, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that even though everybody is saying she's going to get easily confirmed, I'll say she'll run into some serious trouble. We'll see how accurate I am on this.

Can I say...
I am PROUD of Dick Cheney. He's become more of a hero than I ever thought he could be. I've always thought he was a good guy, as much as he was vilified but the dude is not only gutsy but confident. Between him and his daughter Liz, I think they can take on the world. Al Qeada and all. He simply destroyed Obama and his policies, smacked him over the head and try to inject him with some sense. It's so relieving to see somebody do this with boldness. We got whimpy people on the right that are not gutsy enough to call Obama's bluff but no, not Richard Cheney. And for that he gets major accolades. I wish we could clone him and make him a younger so he can take over the [weak]publican party. I hope he keeps it up, as well as his daughter. Obama is simply not used to people challenging him. He's like a little kid that has always got what he wanted and never had to be responsible for his decisions. In contrast, Cheney has definitely been responsible for his actions and so far it looks like it worked out pretty well.
So here's to more of Dick Cheney! Cheers!

Guessing game
I just had a quick thought, as of today, a ticket I wouldn't mind seeing would be a Palin/Ryan ticket. I like the guy man. He's a smart, economy oriented kid. He knows his stuff especially with policy. I wouldn't mind supporting that.
On a side note, did I mention I really like Liz Cheney?

Genius President
So the brilliant President comes up with another brilliant idea: kick the auto industry while their on the ground. Oh well, they'll never recover (at least Chrysler and GM for sure). It seems that this guy doesn't have any other instincts but to destroy everything that has made America great. He blabs about how we've been destroying the planet. Yeah, ok. I say put your money where your mouth is. Get rid of all your SUVs, Airforce One, and gas guzzling limo and then lecture us, Professor Obama. Whatis up with this control hunger that these fools have? If I want to drive a SUV, let me drive my SUV. If you wanna drive a silly looking smart car, good for you. If it makes you happy...driving my kind of car sure as heck makes me happy. Now if I run into your idiotic behind on the freeway, don't whine about anything. You chose to drive that wheelchair looking car around. What is the big deal. This idiotic plan is going to be a disaster. Not to add that it's not going to work. America will only be worse off because of this. How about we drill for oil in america, open nuclear factories and develop clean coal. These are proven solutions for energy, instead of killing every kind of business that has made this country great. "Green cars and smart cars" are just not "in" and they never will be. Sorry to have to break it to you.

Still on the whole "tortue" thing
Charles Krauthammer who I think is the smartest dude on the planet worte a really good case on this interrogation fiasco:
He seems to make everything sound so pin-pointed, straight talk
Private principles are fine, but you don't entrust such a person with the
military decisions upon which hinges the safety of the nation. It is similarly
imprudent to have a person who would abjure torture in all circumstances making
national security decisions upon which depends the protection of 300 million
countrymen.
He seems to make everything sound so pin-pointed, straight talk

Tea Party De-brief
I had a lot fun at the rally yesterday. I'll be posting pictures shortly. Got there about 3:45 (it was supposed to start at 4) and I guess I was a little nervous. For one, it was my first protest and then second, uhhh do I have to say. I don't think i was necessarily nervous, i think i was just more anxious to see the reaction I would get. But the wait didn't last. As I walked up out of the parking garage, I walked right into the line to get into the park (people were signing in). In line, I met a couple who brought their young daughter, probably in middle or high school. I couldn't really tell. We chatted a bit, they loved my t-shirt for one, that was a big convo starter. The guy took pictures of me and we were yappin' it up. Then for some reason, I can't remember, we spoke to the lady behind them and before you know it me and her were yappin' it up. She seemed like a really nice middle aged woman but then I could tell there was something about her. Anyhow, she told me how her kids made her sign and then I said something about being a recent grad and then she asks me where I went. And of course we know, I'm always proud to give that answer. LSU! Her face lit up and gave me the "get out" look. And she yelled, "GEAUX" and of course I said, "TIGERS". It was a party already. You know LSU ppl, we meet each other and we act like we've known each other for years. I love the LSU family, truly amazing. I don't think there's anything like.
The program kicked off with music, pledge of allegiance, bible reading, and prayer. Yes, welcome to Texas, where we love our God and Guns. They had about 10000 people show up, i don't what the actual count is but it was amazing. Lots of speakers. They had conservatives, libertarians, ron paul crowd, young, middle aged, old and very young, fair tax people (I'm definitely a flat tax guy and think fair tax is sort of a joke) but we were all together. American flags everywhere. And there was plenty of Texas spirit, a lot of 10th Amendment and the proposition regarding that in the Texas state house.
I had a good time and I swear a million people took pictures of me. A lot of the older folks asked me if I remember the Carter years. My answer? "Uhhhhh, I really wasn't born until '87 so I've done a lot of reading and the guy was a joke". They loved me! Then again, who doesn't? Just teasing. , It did go a little long but I had to leave early (about 6:30). I teach fifth grade kids at my church on wednesday nights. All in all, this was a great experience that I hope is the beginning of saving America.

Tea Party Time
It's Tea Party Dad. I honestly can't believe I'm going to a protest, but I'm looking forward to it. I'll be having my camera handy and taking some pretty good pictures. It's going to be interesting. Especially because I'll be wearing the Obama/Carter t-shirt. I can't wait to see people's reaction. And if ACORN or moveon is there it'll get even more interesting. "Big, black guy with an anti-obama shirt? He must crazy". Hah! Intelligence knows no skin color. Sorry, I'm not a drone, I like to think for myself and I'll like to keep it that way. Party up!

Tea Party, again
Yes, the Tea Party movement is full force. It's pretty remarkable. I got my t-shirt in the mail yesterday and I'm ready! It does irk me that a lot of politicians, mostly republicans, are trying to get in on the action. We all know they weren't involved in this before. Heck, a lot of them are part of the problem. Now a bunch of them are jumping on the bandwagon, I hate to say it but it just gives fuel to the idiots that keep calling this some thing out of the republican party. This stuff was straight grassroots and now people like Newt Gingrich are trying to get a piece of the pie. How about people told them 'No thanks'. That would have been better, but I hear he's speaking at one of the tea parties. This would make people like me who doesn't jump up and down about republicans a little sketchy about going to the Tea Party. But oh well, I think most people going know what they're going for and are saying screw people like them. Newt and his kind who are just trying to cash in on a serious movement. Politicians, i swear

Tyranny
If the president of the united states sacking the head of GM doesn't scream tyranny then the world is upside down. Unbelievable
Headline of the Day
"Compassionate Capitalism". From the top Huffington Post. That sounds familiar right? Compassionate Conservatism. How did that work out? Geithner did say capitalism will be different. Well here it is...long live free market capitalism!

Michael Steele
Let me say first that I like Michael Steele. That said, enough already! Can he stop doing anymore interviews...seriously. The more he talks the more he gets himself in trouble. Honestly I don't care if he's pro-choice, keep that crap to yourself. Who gives a rat, you're not running for president. I wish he gets on the job and do his 'thing'. But please, I hope he saves himself from anymore embarassment. It seems that everything he says, he has to retract. C'mon dude, you're supposed to be 'media savvy'. Hah! That's been a joke so far, I will say I thought he actually was 'media savvy'.

The Response
Yeah, yeah, yeah...so the president's speech was all smoke and mirrors. The only thing i'll say is it's not what he says, it's what he does. Anyhow, I am a Bobby Jindal fan, especially after he spoke at my graduation but that was pathetic...with all due respect to my man. It sounded like he was telling a story to little kids. I couldn't stop laughing after the first minute and then it wasn't funny any longer. But I dunno what to say about that but that was no party for my man from Louisiana! You know i'm already thinking it...yeah, Cuda might have done better. But it's all for the better, don't wanna be following The One.

Post-debate analysis
Line of the night: "Senator Obama, I am not George Bush and if you wanted to run against him you should have ran four years ago". I thought that was GREAT! Other than that, i thought it was a tie which is pretty much a win for Obama. I'm not throwing it in the bag just yet but BHO cannot really get flustered. The guy's a pro, a saul olinsky, harvard law graduate. I mean you look at him and say he can be a president, too bad he's got not just skeletons in the closet but rotten dead bodies. Anyhow, I thought they both did well, McCain to me is like a boxer who jabs pretty hard and then backs off and goes around in the circle for the rest of the round. Watching post debate coverage, i'll be honest i'm thinking, GOSH i wish Mitt Romney was our nominee, he would be zinging BHO all night on his wack, depression like economic policies. Mac had soo many chances to hit a knockout but i just don't think he's that kind of personality and you just gotta respect that. But my excuse is, i wanted romney in the first place. But you take what you get, I guess that's just Mac man. We'll see how it works out but this my right after analysis, probably have some more in the morning. Joe the plumber is definitely the most famous man in the world right now, i'm glad i knew him before this evening. I do think McCain should have said if spreading the wealth isn't socialism then senator obama tell me what is. That was a zinger! I should have been debate coach.
